And the common list of stuff I could come up with I already had.
So I decided why not upgrade the computer a little.
So I went to upgrade the memmory and video card.
I got 4 gig of memmory (I realize that on my vista install I can't use all of it, but i was going to try and install the 64 bit version of unbuntu and check it out.
For the video card I got the BFG Nvidia GeForce GTX 260
And I found out I had two major problems.
1. My power supply doesn't have the connectors needed.
2. Even if I had the power, I would have to cut out metal on the drive bays to get the video card to fit into the machine.
So I need to buy a new case and power supply.
And with that I'm considering to just get a new motherboard as well. And just move the CPU, drives and memmory to the new system.
And if I get a new motherboard I could get one capable of SLI and be ready if I want to try out SLI.
I'm thinking I may just get the case and power supply though. Cause the board will always become cheaper and I don't think I want to deal with remounting a cpu at this point.
